Birthday Boys

After 13 hours of not so lovely traveling, Tanner & Kody came home to sleep in their beds and wake up to a kitchen decorated with streamers and balloons to celebrate their very first birthday.

New Jammies!

When all else fails (or more realistically, when you fail to pre-plan), matchsticks make great candles! One for each (still sleepy) boy.

Tanner wasted no time picking up his WHOLE piece of cake and shoving in as much as would fit.

Unlike his brother, but very Kody-esque, he first broke apart his cake, examining all the small pieces before slowly putting it to his mouth.

We know Tanner really enjoyed his cake, and the milk too!

The cake is gone, but all the little bits on the fingers need further examination. Why not study the composition of the frosting while we're at it?!

We think they enjoyed their day!
Breakfast and presents, dinner and cake, the day came and went just like they all do. But in between errands and laundry, a sense of accomplishment came over me. Our babies turned one...and we survived! A milestone, indeed!!

  2. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOYS.

It looks like they enjoyed the little party. They sure are great little guys and it sure was great to finally see and hold them. Grandpa has a new name for them. It's the squeezers I think that's very appropriate. Love to all

  3. How adorable! The pictures are priceless. They look like they were sure enjoying their cake and presents. Love how Kody examines everything. He's is deep in thought. Congratualations on reacing a milestone and yes you and Ben actually survived! Your both doing a great job raising them, even as frustrating as it may be at times. Moments like these ( in the pictures) take over and all is good again for another short while!

  4. A milestone indeed!! I'm proud of you too. I admire how you and Ben always charge ahead with your heart set to do whatever you believe is right. That's a characteristic these boys will take with them wherever they go. Great job, guys!
